QUICK UPDATE..A friend notified me that IMPRESS CARDS AND CRAFTS appears to have vacated their store in Tukwila…. so I wrote to the me and they assured me that they did have to leave their store due to owner having other plans for building and not renewing their lease…they are HOWEVER STILL ON LINE …if you sign up they will send you e mails about sales etc and you can create an account or as a guest you can still purchase items and see them on line the link is IMPRESSCARDSANDCRAFTS.COM I recommend that you sign up for their newsletters…but that’s up to you… just wanted to make you up to date..
YOU can see written directions for this one as well as video if you go to SCS and click on tutorials and then search for DOUBLE PANEL GATE FOLD. Its a simple gate fold then panels are added to front of each gate and only glued one side each…I did like this and its relatively simple and you can use some of the scrap paper which may be piling up around you like snow…at least it is at my house.
This is another of my favorites.. I have used it so many times… I got the original pattern from Impress Rubber stamps which at the time had a store in the Bellvue square mall. They still have a great store now down in Tukwilla WA. Any way you can also see a video of it on YOu Tube with Dawn called the CORNER FOLD POP UP…. Its very similar to another corner fold that is way more complicated and so if you watch that one and want to have a cut out on the front you can do that just by cutting out the front and then putting your image up against that cut out on the inside and adhering it …. I think this is the easy one and I have used it many times and in fact first posted it here in 2017..but I am sharing the images and the pattern
one of the reasons I like this so much is because it will stand creating a corner with your images inside.. I have used this design a couple of times to display a mini calendar on one side and either stamp images or even photos which I felt the person I sent to would enjoy. You can obtain the little calendars from IMPRESS RUBBER STAMPS
IN fact that is the only place I have ever been able to buy them and they do come in a couple of sizes and you can make your card smaller if you change the original paper from 8x 8 to 6×6 square… otherwise its the same and you will go from a 4″ open square to a 3″ open …
This one is also a favorite and very easy …its called a twisted diagonal fold. and it creates two pockets if you want to use them as pockets…they will hold a gift card if you are wanting to send a gift or just little messages. The one below I only used small messages and pad of paper I found on sale that was full of black and white images… which I love and then added bits of red for a pop of eye candy. Again the link to video is from SCS…TWISTED FOLD
I am sure there is You tube video but it is basically 4 ¼ x 11 then score diagonally from top right to bottom left… fold along the score line and rub your bone folder along it to make it lie flat… then fold the two ends together so that you have now have a card that opens. For the insert papers or decorator papers I simple cut a sheet of 4 x 10 ¾ then again the diagonal fold top right to bottom left and then fold in half and then go back and cut the triangles that you have created out and use them as you want … I only put them on the front flaps outside and inside because I think to do all of it , it gets way too busy… but your choice. Actually looking back at my photo I did use it on there front two different triangles but I still think its a bit busy..
Those are just few of the folds that I like … as I have said many times I am all about quick and dirty….I don’t want to spend a lot of time on the cards I want to do more and new ones all the time so they have to be quick…lol
