“MY HEART SOARS”

Hello

Hello again…yep still here and I am sure you are wondering what on earth type of card or calligraphy would have a title or name of MY HEART SOARS... the answer is neither of them.

Movies

I just finished watching for the 2nd or 3rd time  UPSIDE… ( I watched it on Showtime but I assume it would also be available on Prime Video)and those words are what happens at the end of the movie and also along the way… I don’t want to say its the best movie I have even seen but while I have heard those words before (don’t know where they actually came from) but this is the one thing that for me they apply to.  I am not going to tell you about it but you can always look it up on google or better yet IMDB.  Its is a fantastic movie and I can’t imagine ever not wanting to see it again…I PROMISE that if you only read the premise or plot for this movie it is not a downer…what kind of person would i be if sent you on a quest for something to make you cry or to make you sad,  I am sure that we all have things like that every day now including but not limited to the news. I kinda felt this way about the BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL…but this one tops that for sure…

This is a rotten time for all of us… and we are all wondering when will it end and if and when it does what will our worlds be like…hard to say but hopefully you find positive, beautiful things about your world and things that will make your HEART SOAR.

NATURE

TURTLES at a pond at the edge of the WALMART parking lot..this was before it got so dang hot.

Ibus… also at the same pond they are such beggars they wait and hope that someone from walmart will come out and throw them some food. They are beggars for sure and you can recognize them by their curved beak. and they usually travel in hurds…

These guys eat bugs, snakes , lizards etc …and those long bills can go very deep into the ground ..

gator at CORKSCREW PARK in Florida

this guy can eat whatever he wants…lol

Pelican on the back of fishing boat on the east coast of Fl ….hoping for some scraps I am sure

WELL I CAN’T BELIEVE its been almost a month since I posted anything…for that I apologize..however we are now in the PACIFIC NORTHWEST and in addition to the normal jet lag from flying across country, I also have the “where is lag”..trying to remember how to get places and even where things are stored here… especially since its been a good 9 months since we were home.  But I am loving it and here are some photos of our back yard and deck..a wonderful neighbor was diligent in watering when necessary and checking on the house.

my frog buddha who holds the peanuts for the squirrels , jays and crows etc..as you can see its almost always empty..

We have lived here for about 20 years and only in the last two years have we had bunny in the back yard… maybe too many dogs around.

We recently too a quick trip to Peninsula and that included a trip to the Olympics and Hurricane Ridge…and what a great treat it was.. We saw a total of 10 deer on the way up and down and then several on the walk/hike across the top .. they were so special and obviously used to having people around and they were not the least bit shy

no trip to the peninsula is complete without a trip over to the straits of Juan de Fuca and of course that means Sea gulls and this guy definitely wanted his picture taken..

These are some of the wildflowers that we saw on the drive up to the top of Hurricane Ridge..note the bee on the thistle..

Above is one of my favorites Indian Paintbrush…

HUMOR

Now a couple of things to make your smile..

So with that said … I am going to sign off for today and I promise it won’t take a month for me to post again.

TRIANGLES AND MORE TRIANGLES

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY…I don’t know about yall but this was a very weird 4th… there were lots of personal fireworks that we could see from our lanai across the river and in fact they all appeared to have spent way more on them than usual…and lots more of them too. I can only assume that this was due to no places nearby that were shooting public fireworks Still on the positive side ( I do keep looking for positives) it was quieter than before more color and less of the just loud noises… I always wonder who spends money to just get a loud noise…still hope you are all staying well , wearing your masks and looking on the bright side. Below are some cards for you to play with in your “stay” time.

TRIANGLE TRI FOLD CARD

This is an interesting triangle card and It can be madden different sizes…the one on the right is using the 12” paper and that is the link I gave you which is also a split coast stampers video . I find that it works best with card stock that is not too heavy…and in the case of the flamingos it was not a duplex paper…which I am sure you know is hard to find. the SEAHAWK green is light weight duplex paper …  and because of the design on both the flamingo paper inside and outside it means that it will only be right side up one way but inside its running vertical because the paper has an up and down pattern… if you want to use pattern paper you would be better off to find an over all pattern…not and up and down.  check it out its pretty fun and when you cut your 12” paper you will get two or even 3 pieces to make the cards…

this is what it looks like folded

this is half unfolded

Ok if you are till confused checkout the video link above  or the one below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdPjj_UjwBE

this one is a UK version and its a bit long but basically the same as the above cards but with a slight twist or rather an extension …its using two cards folded together which makes it slightly longer but it will still fit in like a 5×7 envy…and its a little different..

These are two of my favorite pens… the top one is pretty knew and from John Neal Bookseller  and its called the Brody pen.…which is an update on the ruling pen it has a wide edge as we’ll as a medium edge and the of course you put it up on the tip to a fine line for moonlike writing or to create a thick and thin type letter..

the bottom one is an antique I think I found it in and antique store and its an OLD RULING PEN… the screw on the side opens and closes the tip to allow for ink flow with heavy inks and watery ink.  It’s defiantly a moonlike writing pen so I use it with my AKIM…and other monolines…

BOOKS

I have never listed books before but thought that some of you are readers and might like some suggestions… All of the ones listed are available in Kindle format as that is my go to digital reader and most are also available in audible format..( I am an AMAZON AND APPLE girl. ) but I’m sure they are also available in paperback and on other formats.

ONLY WOMAN IN THE ROOM..ABOUT HEDY LAMAR she was way more than just an actress

THE HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET….A Favorite of mine

JOYLAND..this is a STEPHAN KING…BUT NOT SCARY…and I highly recommend you do it in audible if you have an account. I have listened to it a least 3 times and still love it.

WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING

IF THE CREEK DON’T RISE again the audible for this one is terrific even the author loved it.

DOCUMENTARIES..

I LOVE KEN BURNS and I love the NATIONAL PARKS AMERICA’S BEST IDEA…its a 4 part but it will make you want to SEE THE USA…he does a terrific job and even if you have been to all the parks you will learn things you didn’t know.

GREAT BARRIER REEF.…with DAVID ATTENBOURGH… I love to just listen to him I think I could watch him telling about mud hardening… but there are some old video clips of his first visit there and his excitement is just so contagious .
