DAWN’S XMAS GIFT CARD HOLDER

GREETINGS one and all….

Well  its getting to be that time of year when you are wanting to send treats to friends and family , teachers, hair dressers etc…so this is slight variation to other gift card holders and hey you can never have too many card ideas with POCKETS….right ….

Dawn’s gift card folder

Dawn’s gift card folder

DAWN’S GIFT CARD HOLDER so after you look at the video… here are a few hints that you may find helpful….HINT 1…..paper is cut  5 ½ x 12. And she is using duplex paper that means decorated on both sides…however she then shows you how to cover up the inside design as it is really too busy …so just wanted you to know that because at least where I am I only know two stores that sell a selection of duplex paper …you don’t have to use duplex paper…you can do with with 12 x 12 paper that is solid color on both sides or paper that is designer on one side and white on the back side….

HINT 2…This really ties into HINT 1 …I have found that many times the solid color on both sides paper is not cut with the grain and when you go to fold it CRACKS…sometimes it cuts when you are trying to score it so my suggestion is to a) score carefully and b) do score before you fold… that triangle…as it may not fold neatly if it isn’t either scored or folded and pressed with bone fold…it doesn’t happen all the time but its always a surprise when it does happen.

My next suggestion is othe ways of using this card….you can slip a hand Made coupon in the pocket inviting the person to lunch , a party , or maybe write a encouraging word on separate paper, share a business card or even a photo…this would be a perfect idea for sharing a photo of a new baby in the family , human or new pet even…also it could be a we’ ve moved card with new address inside… or if you have someone who has a hard time writing you send them some address labels for their family and friends…or print up some special return address labels to give as a gift..the small strips of post it notes to use as markers etc.. Lots of things to fill the pocket..

I ALSO WANT TO SUGGEST that you follow DAWN’S hint about trimming off just a smidge of the flap of the card…especially if your card stock is rather thick it will make it fold much nicer…

EYE CANDY..This week I want to share a site that is a DIY on painting rocks which seems to be a craze again and these are showing you how to paint PUMPKIN ROCKS.. they are so cute I may have to go out and round up some of my hubby’s rocks and paint them before he finds them missing…..TTFN…for you non TIGGER fans that TA TA FOR NOW..

ok think that is it for this blog AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPIN BY…wire headed cyber toad…..aka kath..

HALLOWEEN HOCUS POCUS

IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW HALLOWEEN IS MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY….and to kick the season off I want to share a photo by a friend that was on FACEBOOK back in August when the Eclipse happened…. I think these photos tell you why I think  it should be here in this post….

partial eclipse in 2017…

I love this card… I love the pop out effect…ya know the BOO effect…and the fold is that old explosion fold she gives you the directions of how to do it and you can use 6×6 decorator paper or you can do as she did and decorate it yourself with embellishments or stickers or stamps…. then if you have one of those Martha Stewart boarder punches ..there are several but the cobweb is very cool land gives almost a lacey effect…

here is the link for this one…..http://callalilystudioblog.blogspot.ca/2012/09/halloween-cards.html

Now in case you can’t tell  this explosion fold when enclosed in the card is a 3 inch square mounted on the diagonal inside the card…. however…. just so you know it can also be a card all by itself… small maybe but you can also do it an 8×8 fold which would give you a 4inch square….or if that still isn’t big enough for you… you can use a 10 x 10 piece of paper and you would end with a 5 x 5 inch square card…. now one of my favorite uses for this fold is to use it to create calendars that stand on their own for my friends… SAME FOLD but you remove one panel so that you now will need to overlap two of the panels to create a corner then glue them to together so that the diagonal fold is in the bottom of the card its the platform the card stands on….then decorate the two panels inside and using one of them to glue the little monthly calendars on for me that is usually the right panel but it can be the left one also…. so the little calendars are available at impresscardsandcrafts as you can see from the photo they come in two sizes and depending on what you want to use to decorate and what size square you end with will help you decide which size calendar you want to use

mini calendars from IMPRESS RUBBER STAMP

Well its getting to be that time of year again… I have to leave my paradise in WA and head to FL…. I know lots of you think that is just a terrific thing and I am not really complaining because I get to see our daughter and our grandchildren as well as my Mom and also all of my husbands family however, I don’t think l am ever going to think that CHRISTMAS at 87 degrees with probably 80% humidity is just not my idea of christmas….but being with family makes up for that a lot.   In any case the reason I am even mentioning this is because I am going to be really busy and also taking a trip to Nova Scotia so my posting is going to be iffy….as in if at all….lol… but I am going to give you other web sites to check out and also be sure to check out PINTEREST ……just go locking for Handmade cards and then you will have more sources than you can stand… but I have alreadying given you

FRENCHIES SCRAP AND STAMP Frenchie is a Stamping Up rep but she does have a different take than either DAWN…or SPLITCOAST STAMPERS..  IN any case guess  you will have lots of sources to check .  if you go looking on PINTEREST or even YouTube.

EYE CANDY…this is a lovely video of painting wet on wet…I keep telling myself I can do this but somehow ….WATER COLOR WET ON WETcheck it out maybe your’s will be better than mine…

POP UP BOOK CARD

GREETINGS FELLOW CARD MAKERS…

DAWN’S POP UP BOOK CARD.. THIS CARD GOT ME SO EXCITED… my youngest granddaughter is turning 21 the end of this month and I just thought how cute would this card be with two photos for the book pages..one of her as little girl and one of her now…I hope to get it done in time… but you can use stamp images or whatever you want for the book pages…..I have to measure it but I think you could even do this as a mini desk type calendar with the calendar pages on the right side of the book and an image or postage stamp on the left side…. I need to check the measurements of the tiny calendars…where you tear a page a day off..( impress cards and crafts).

Front Dawn’s pop up book card

Inside pop up book card

It’s hard to see in the green but there is a about a ½ in that allows the book to part to sorta pop out rather then up.. in any case you have the measurements to use to make the little pages for the inside of the card…you can use your stamps or you can use photos which ever you have or whatever very you want…

I did notice when I was looking at my page I printed with her measurements …there was no measurement listed for the what I am calling the liner (inside) card which is the green.

So here are the measurements as well as the scoring numbers that you will only find on the video and here on my blog…so I am calling this my HINT: SO the liner (green ) is cut at 4 x 8..then put on trimmer the 4 inch width at and place it at 1″ then cut from 1″ down to 7″…then flip the card over again with 4 ” width and repeat …cut at 1″ in and then start at 1″ and cut down to 7″…

Next flip the card so that you are at the 8″ width and from the left hand end score at 1″ just between the cut lines not all the way across…then again at 1 ½ inch again between cut lines …NOW JUST FROM TOP TO THE CUT LINE SCORE AT 2 ½ AND REPEAT THAT AT THE BOTTOM FROM THE BOTTOM UP TO THE CUT LINE NOT ALL THE WAY ACROSS.

SCORE ALL THE WAY ACROSS AT 4 ” AND FLIP THE CARD OVER AND AND REPEAT SCORES..from the end 1″. And then 1 ½ inch inside the cut lines…and the outside cut lines from top down to cut line at 2 ½ and also from bottom up to cut line at 2 ½ . Now you have all your score lines set so you can begin folding with the valley then mountain on the ends of the book..and valley in the center of the book then fold the card in half to get other folds in place so that booklet pops out.  Then use her video to see about gluing the card in rather than tape just because it may get opened and closed a lot and the glue will hold better than the tap…..ok that should help and I printed the first two pages of he post and then wrote these measurements on my print out so I would have them when I wanted to make the card…

I am certain that she just forgot to list that liner card size due to just getting back from THAILAND and probably she has jet lag… I know I would … but I really though this card was extra cute and would work great for birthdays….if you have younger and current photos…lol… otherwise its great with sentiments or image stamps… balloons and cake etc.

Ok think that is all for now so enjoy.  AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPIN BY…wire headed cyber toad..aka kath

FRENCHIE’S BOX IN A Z FOLD..

FRENCHIE’S BOX IN A Z FOLD …..WELL we had made this Z FOLD  with a couple of different twist to it but this is really cute also as it has sorta pop ups coming out of the box… Plus its Frenchie and you know how I just love her accent and also her laid back method of making art.  She so goes with the flow… she does a birthday one and then a christmas one….so this is a popcorn video..its 25 minutes long but its worth every minute.

Z BASE IS 4 ¼ X 11 THE BOX PART IS CUT 2 1/8  X 11..YOU SCORE BOTH OF THEM AT 2 ¾  AND 5 ½ .

This is her vision of the birthday box one…and it is taken form over head so that you can see how the layers go in inside the box.

Frenchie’s bday box z card

then here are the images of her xmas one or winter one.

I really like that she suggests that you put a piece of clear plastic in the back panel cause it will give it a bit more depth and give you something to attach your pieces too. As I said its a long video but she does a good job and has lots of good suggestions and I like that for the winter /snowman one she basically designs it as she goes… she made all her pieces first and then had them ready to assemble .

Well since the video is long …I am going to keep this short… but check out Frenchie and enjoy the video..You Tube has several different videos on this same card and each is just a bit different…

DAWN’S OUT OF BOX CARD/VIDEO

DAWN’S OUT OF BOX CARD/VIDEO Ok I am leaving this with the title that she gave it but if it was just me… I’d say its the INSIDE OUT CARD..(its also a very old video).this is basically a regular card with a cut out on the front and an image in this its a butterfly but it could be a flower or a frog or a bear or whatever you want… and what happens is the half of it is inside the cut out and the other half of it is OUTSIDE…. it gives such a great dimension to the card .  But the truth of the matter is it’s really just an optical illusion.  In the case of the butterfly you do have to cut a part of it out by hand then layer it onto the front of the card and while she shows you two images of two different cards….the flowers aren’t …AND actually one the one on the left is done the way of the butterfly the other two are complete cut outs and  applied at the end. ( to me anyway ) as impressive as the butterfly so I am going to suggest just go with one  image and make it bigger even if you have to hand cut a bit of it….

Dawn’s out of the box butterfly

flowers /butterfly

Ok so there you have it and you can look thru your images and see what you can find that might work… it might work better with a circle or a square so give it some thought and see what you can come up with… I think the flower would have worked better if she had put it at the top or bottom of the oval and only had the one…or had smaller ones on the outside… but give it a try and of course if you make ones you can post it the comments or a link to it and share it with me.

As always thanks for stoppin by …wire headed cyber toad…aka kath

FRENCHIE’S TUNNEL CARD

GREETINGS Y’ALL

Once I found FRENCHIE… I was so delighted with her “just do it ” attitude and her accent that I kept going back for more… FRENCHIE’S TUNNEL CARD….is not what I would call a Tunnel card but that’s what she calls it… after you watch the video you will see that she has images , embellishments etc hanging down from the center of opening in the inside of the card…I made one and it does work but frankly I don’t care so much for the hanging part…so my idea is to make to more 3D and attach the images to the inside , outside and the background of the opening… but either way its a fun card and will delight the recipient.

Frenchie’s tunnel card

This is the one she did with the balloons and she didn’t like it so the video is done with butterflies….the balloons don’t hang well due to the fact that they have string on the bottom of them if you used foam tape to adhere one to the inside of the cut out and one to the outside of the cut and then one on the base card itself all those cords would be just fine and it would look just a good I think… same with the butterflies or whatever you may choose to use on your card….

Basically you are going to use a standard 5 ½ x 8 ½ card for the base and if you want to stamp inside  your cut out then you probably do want to use a white or off white base card.  The the pop out part can be designer paper/card stock …not to think or it won’t pop out well and also will be difficult to adhere images/embellishments .

TIP: my first tip is that when you got to put the two pieces together the easiest way to do it is to put the one end as she shows but then IF YOU FOLD the pop out then you can apply the tape and then just fold the card shut and it will line up perfectly… at least that’s my way.

So watch the video and then give it your best shot…Here is my image I did use a sheet of decorator card stock for the inside pop out..and then stamps for the inside base

my version of Frenchie’s tunnel.

inside of my tunnel

You can’t see the head of the bird because it laying almost flat…but when its open then you can see his bird really well.

You may also see that my insert while cut the same size as the base card..I chose not to glue it to outside edges instead I moved it just about a 1/8 of an inch inside….it won’t lay out flat when opened all the way but who does that anyway… all the butterflies are mounted on pop up dots…

Ok try the card either way and AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPING BY …wire headed cyber toad aka kath

SCS TIE DYE TECHNIQUE

Quote

GREETINGS ONE AND ALL

I love the idea of repurposing almost anything and I am a BABY BOOMER ergo a child or the 60’s so tie dye is in my blood….

In addition to the look of this…I love the fact that this has TEXTURE…so when she says don’t smooth it out …DON’T….I still have a grocery brown paper bag full of wadded up tissue paper that you can iron onto freezer paper or  butcher paper so that you can not only actually use the tissue paper but it has great texture…but I digress…this just looks like a fun project and a great way to create interesting background.

SCS TIE DIE TECHNIQUE  here is the link ….watch it and go create…

SCS TIE DYE TECHNIQUE

HINT:  I am sure some of you are going to say well I don’t know what colors to put together…or I don’t have any stampin up ink pads…no worries just stick die based inks not pigment ( probably just cause it would take forever to dry ) and then some of those ombré stamp pads already chose the colors for you and if you don’t have any of those I am sure you have some of the older rainbow pads the ones that you slide together to use and unslide to close up so they didn’t bleed together….and it you Don’t have any of either of these…..YOU NEED TO DO SOME SHOPPING..LOL…

Tsukineko
Kaleidacolor

Hero Arts
Ombré pads.

Both of these are probably, sometimes, maybe , available at Joanne’s or Michael’s but they are also available at local stamp stores and defininately at AMAZON…

  • HINT: she doesn’t actually say but implies that you only want to use three that’s COLORS or it may get muddy looking unless you want to make it a rainbow effect but again…( i taught 1st grade for many years so I believe in repetitation ) don’t try to cover all the space…leave some white space between rows…it will look better …TRUST ME…lol…ok there you have it ….so lets see a run on coffee filters at the grocery…oh and UNSENTED BABY WHIPES ALSO.

FRENCHIE’S MULTI PANEL FOLD CARD…

GREETINGS YA’LL…

I am going back to FRENCHIE ….I loved this simple yet elegant card…and the fact that it will stand up…BUT..I HAVE FRIENDS who will tell you that I can never make a recipe just as its written I have to tweak it bit.. and so when I looked at this card rather than it standing you could add a bit of a ribbon on the front panel and then make it hang…so then it would run vertical rather than horizontal….. of course your papers and stamping would need to run that way as well…. just a thought…

I confess after listen to her I got hooked on that accent and had to discover what it was…turns out she is French canadian but she has lived in US for over 25 years… and currently is in TEXAS…I also got hooked on her card videos… I had just stumbled on the first one I told you about which was the peek a boo but then I found this one on the pop laurel and last this accordion one…so now I am subscribed to her site I am sure since they are both Stamping Up Reps that there will be over lap but again due to the fact that in this one she also makes a mistake on the video and then just goes with it ….no biggie and in the end I agree with her that it was what I like to call a serendipity moment and the accident looks better than that original…lol… so give this one a look see and and think you will like it too..

FRENCHIE’S MULTI PANEL ….If you know how to screen shot while you are watching you can do that to get the cuts and scores..if not think I got them on the screenshots I took of her videos…

Frenchie’s multi panel

Frenchie’s multi panel open

Here’s the measurements screen shot… both the cut of the base card and the scoring..

Ok she didn’t show what the sizes of the designer paper panels were …well she told us two of them and based on the sizes of the base panels they are as follows…

1 ¼ x 5 ¼,

2 ¼ x 5 ¼ and then last panel is

2 ¾ x 5 ¼.

Ok your gonna love to hear when she makes a mistake  in this video she goes UH OH…. it was just too funny and yet she wastes no time just tells you you can’t pull that tape off so go with the flow…. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT…

And with the end of the video the last shot is it folded and that’s my serendipity moment cause I do like it better than the first card she did ….

Ok that’s it for this post...AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPIN BY....wire headed cyber toad…aka …kath

UPDATED UPDATED RE POST OF DAWN’S PEEK A BOO SLIDER AND France’s Video

UPDATE,UPDATE.no I have not suddenly developed a stutter…I had to share this video on a similar card this one done by some FRANCE MARTIN…(if you hated this card the first two times then feel free to skip this blog…but in addition to Frenchie’s video there is also a 2008 VIDEO by DAWN of the same basic card with different layout…YES , OK I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA…)..first I am not sure what her accent is but it tickled me to listen to her…and the best is that ⅔ of the way thru the video she acknowledged that she made a mistake when she was cutting but she goes right ahead and works with it….THAT GETS BIG POINTS FROM ME…so often folks in classes I have been in or taught have thrown a mistake away…..no need most of the time you can make a recovery and sometimes discover that you like that recovery better….

FRENCHIE’S VIDEO OF PEEK A BOO WHICH IS SQUARE…now because it is square you will pay more for postage….enjoy the video and at the end of the video by France you have a link to her web site and she says she has all the measurements and the pattern for her version of this card….and then if you can stand it watch the older version of the card by Dawn…DAWN’S EARLY PEEK A BOO.

France’s peek a boo square card

Dawn’s 2008 version of the Peek a boo card

If you think I have gone over board with this …then check out the many videos on YOU TUBE..of this same type of card and the various versions…. lmao

UPDATE ...ok back in march I made several of these and thought they were not that difficult well here it is JUNE and it took me 20 minutes , watching the video twice , making screen shots before I could put one together again…sooo I thought that posting it again with the updated screen shots might help others who in frustration tore up the one they tried and got up and took a break…come on admit it… anyway ..hope this extra photo’s help….

GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS…

I saw this card and of course ai had to go figure out how it worked….I think because it was   similar to the double peek a boo she didn’t give any of the measurements EXCEPT IN THE VIDEO….so I will list them below because while this looks a little complicated its not that difficult.  DAWN’S PEEK A BOO SLIDER

Dawn’s Peek a boo one opening SLIDER

SO the way this works is that when its closed you see one message and when you open it you will see a second message slide into the Opening…Her opening is made using a 2″  circle punch….the rest of the measurement are as follows…

BASE CARD …..4 ¼ x 8 ½  SCORED @ 4 ¼

FRONT OF CARD….4 ¼ X 5 ½ SAME COLOR AS THE BASE CARD

BACK OF CARD (WHITE) 4 ¼ 5 ¾ …SCORED along 5 ¾ inch at 5 ½

WHITE SLIDER PIECE CUT @ 3 x 4 ¼….SCORED ALONG 3 inch at 2 3/4

2 INCH CIRCLE PUNCH…you could use some other shape but it needs to be no bigger than the 2′ size or it won’t fit  the card…ie unless you are an engineer don’t re invent the wheel… lol

This is what the two pieces should look like after you adhere the white to your color card stock

so this is how you stick them together BUT  they get assembled with top one reversed ..

a picture of how and where you punch the 2″ max hole in the card…

This is the piece that goes on the top but she is punching it upside down from the back side….so turn it toward you and it becomes the pink front of the card with a hole in it and you use that hole layers on top of the folded base to see where you will punch the next two holes… yep there are 3 punched holes…

how the card should look just before final assembly..

ok looking down on the card she has the piece for the front adhered to inside top fold of the base card…you can see the small slider on the end of it…the her hand is almost touching the large white piece that becomes the back of the card…..sorry its blurry but I was having to stop it to take screen shot each time…

I hope that this helps ya’ll assemble them.. and this time I made several up but not stamped and and not completely assembled… and then paper clipped them together and put then in with my print out of these images…. I still love this card I must or I wouldn’t have worked so hard to make it easier for all of us…. hope you don’t feel cheated and if you threw up your hands and didn’t make this one…give it try now…

here are ll the photos on a shingle sheet if you want to print it.

None of the above is going to make any sense until you watch the video but I figured you could copy and past these measurements on a page and print them out so that you have them rather than having to watch the video each time you want to make this card.  HUGE HINT:   I would strongly suggest that you make up a dummy of this card so and put it in a sheet protector with the measurements so that you can refer to it make  more… don’t put it completely together but do adhere the white SLIDER  and the white BACK so that you can see how it does go together. Yeah I did that but I left it in FLORIDA….LMAO

As I said this looks harder than it really is … I made both of these in less than an hour..

kh how old peekaboo

You can’t tell form this photo but the dinosaur circle is on a wobble spring… LOVE IT..and nt washi tape is newsprint image… my how old stamp is on a block of wood so it is really hard to get it aligned….but I love that stamp…so I used it anyway…. I may end up removing it from the block of wood and using it on the clear blocks so that I can see it better…HOW DOES SHE DO THAT YOU ASK…I will post that info at the bottom of this blog. I HAVE NOW nuked the block stamp HOW OLD and removed the image so I put it on a clear block and put where I want it… see note below on how to remove stamp.

bird how old peekaboo kh

For this card…..I had this long stamp of the chick with the cake with all the candles and when I punched it out and I just kinda chopped off his legs but  He is ok…. then the cover was pice of card stock that was preprinted and left over from some valentine stuff.  I was able to center the HOW OLD a little better but still not perfect…however, I am not a perfectionist and it is legible and most people will get what it says right away..

You will notice that I did not put borders around my circle cuts…..ie the LAZY STAMPER HERE…I didn’t have the next size punch so I would have had to go and die cut them and I was just too lazy to do that…

Both of the my cards has the same message stamped inside on the slider part so it looks like this….

kh peek boo inside

You will also note that I didn’t use balloons to decorate the outside… I have the balloon punch which punches out two different size balloons but again I just liked using my how old stamp and the dinosaur…..I also have a cute big ugly looking bird that I plan to use with the message stamp saying DO I SMELL CAKE…that would go on the slider part.

So ALWAYS WATCH THE VIDEO…then I recommend you cut the pieces I noted above or even cut them first and then watch the video then assemble your dummy using paper /cardtock that you don’t really like so that you have it to refer to without going back to the video each time. My computer is on the other side of the room from my desk so its not convenient to go back and forth …..in fact i am not sure they make a des big enough for me to work with all the stuff I want at my finger tips…lol….I end up working about 10 sq inches ……I don’t recommend that as it is often how ink etc gets where it doesn’t belong or smeared… but it always seems to be what happens …. the muse is running I try to go with the flow….

REMOVING A STAMP FROM A WOOD BLOCK…..basically put your wood block in the microwave with the rubber facing up and nuke it for about 5-10 seconds… then it should just peal right off the wood block…it doesn’t seem to harm the rubber although over time it may dry it out more.  I would start with 5 seconds first as you are just loosening the glue …but if its a really large image you may want to do 10 seconds… you can always go back and do a few more seconds if necessary…. REMEMBER ITS SECONDS ….not minutes….so figure out your microwave first…with water or something so you know how to set it….I have a built in micro so its about 1100 watts…if you have a small one it may take a few more seconds due to your power being lower…

ADHERING THE REMOVED STAMP ….I use the zig two way glue pen applied to the back of the rubber/cushion THIS usually allows it to stick to the block.. however you can always put some double stick tape on the back of stamp and stick it to the clear block that way…

STORAGE…you can purchase the stamp cases empty from DAWN or any stamping up dealer ..I just stamp the image on a sheet of paper that will slip inside the front cover the plastic box and put them in there… I try to keep them in like kind of boxes… birthday together etc…

My friend JANIS…came across a garage sale, I think of a whole bunch of clear mount STAMPING UP stuff being sold and she bought it all… lol…. She is my number one BLOG FAN as she frequently makes up the card as soon as I post it and then tweeks it a little and sends me images of her take on the card…. FOR THAT I AM TRULY GRATEFUL…

I am also grateful for my wonderful HUSBAND OF 46 YEARS who makes all of this possible. He is very supportive and always reads my blog…Love him bunches.

Well that’s about all from here and as TOM BODETT would say AS ALWAYS tTHANKS FOR STOPPIN BY and “we’ll leave the LIGHT ON FOR YA”…wire headed cyber toad aka kath HOPIN THIS SHINED A LITTLE MORE LIGHT ON THE HOW TO…hugs kath

DRY EMBOSSING ON VELLUM

GREETINGS…

I learned to do this technique several years ago but I had forgotten about it till I was browsing thru thru my  STAMPING SCHOOL  subscription…..she had posted a card using the fat chicken….

Stamping School card

.and I had gotten that stamp set cause I just loved those chickens and so I had to give it a try ….you do need to press very gently or you will tear the vellum…but I love the effect….of DRY EMBOSSING ON VELLUM….i can’t link you to STAMPING SCHOOLsite but I found this video on you tube…the STAMPING SCHOOL SITE is a pay site…. its 35$ a year but I do like the way she lays out her cards…and you can save favorites for yourself on the site and she gives what she calls the recipe which gives you the sizes of card…score lines etc and a picture all on a single sheet of paper…. I like all of that so much that I said ok I am going to pay for it… this is my 3rd year and I do feel I get my money’s worth .  So while there is the link up there …you won’t be able to see all of the cards etc/videos unless you pay for a subscription.  This is also why I can’t link you to the sight

I also discovered that its hard to do a large open area….and while balloons would look good afraid it will be harder to do that larger area….unless you have the denser piece of foam to rub on… I tired to use my mouse pad and it tore, I found a small piece of dense foam that I had for something else and it worked better so I went to Michaels and looked for dense /thicker foam wirere they had the light foam that you can use to die cut images… the dense foam is little more than ¼ inch thick and it only comes in two colors grey and white… I think the grey will be easier to see where you have been and what still needs to embossed…. it was a very cheap purchase think it was only 99 cents… It can be very impressive .

Here are some of the images that I did ….

mouse embossing

chicken dry emboss

my frog above is mounted on the multi panel card or center step….and I did use watercolors on the back side of the vellum.

dry embossed flowers of vellum

Because I scanned these images none of them are showing up as well as they do when you see them in person…

also I would tell you that you can also use tracing paper its slightly thicker and not a transparent as vellum but it will work..also colored vellum will work it won’t show up white but it will show up a lighter shade of whatever color you might be using..

EYE CANDY…..SEAL AND GIRL ON DOCK..this is maybe not eye candy… and as you can see it made the NEWS as well as FACEBOOK and it made me laugh…only because I know she is ok…I am sure she was scared but this is the best reason why t you don’t feed wild animals…I know I have a black sense of humor but as I said she is fine. just a little wet and shook up…

well guess that’s it for this post…. AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPIN BY…wire headed cyber toad aka kath harney
